David Ringgold Obituary

David Bryan Ringgold, 57, of Elko passed away November 10, 2009 from injuries sustained in a fall at his home November 7. He was born July 14, 1952 in Spokane, Washington to Walter Marvin and Betty Louise Ringgold. David was reared and educated in San Manuel, Arizona. He graduated from San Manuel High School in 1970. David did not go to college right away. He worked a variety of jobs before attending Arizona State University at Tempe for a degree in criminal justice. David was a Colorado Highway Patrolman in the Grand Junction, Colorado area. He decided law enforcement was not the right career choice for him. David worked for several years as an equipment operator in underground mining. He began training to be an electrician. David worked for J.S. Redpath for 11 years, which brought him to Elko, Nevada, where he met the love of his life. David married Loriann "LA" Eisenbarth on October 5, 1988 in Reno, Nevada. David and Loriann were totally devoted to one another, recently celebrating 21 years of marriage. David worked for Newmont for 14 years, beginning in March 1989. He was the NAL Electrical/Instrumentation Supervisor (North Area Leach) and later SAL E & I Supervisor (South Area Leach) at Newmont for many years. David then worked as a underground electrician at Barrick Goldstrike Mines for three years. He later had the opportunity to work for his dear friend, Ed Netherton who owns DEA, Inc., where he worked until his death. David had the most amazing sense of humor. He could make everyone laugh and feel at ease. He was generous to his friends and family. David enjoyed traveling with his wife, Loriann. Throughout the years David and Loriann traveled to many places but took the trip of a lifetime last year to Australia in celebration of 20 years together. David was preceded in death by his father, Walter Marvin and his mother, Betty Louise Ringgold. He is survived by his wife Loriann Ringgold, Elko, NV; father-in-law Richard A. Eisenbarth of Weiser, Idaho; daughter Rachel (Chris) Cushing; granddaughter Addison Leigh of Star, ID; sister Carol Ringgold (Jim Guess) of Albuquerque, NM; sister Gwen Ringgold, Fresno, CA; brother Brett Ringgold of Thoreau, NM; sister-in-law Lisa Eisenbarth of Collborn, CO; sister-in-law Julie Robinson, Elizabeth, CO; nephew Tyler M. Ringgold of Albuquerque, NM; and niece Kalee Eisenbarth of Collborn, Colorado.
A Celebration of David's Life was held on Monday at 10:30 a.m., November 16, 2009 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 777 Sage St., Elko, NV, 89801 with The Rev. Frank B. Cowell officiating. A light brunch hosted by David's wife was held at The Red Lion in The Ruby Room.
Sympathy cards may be sent to: Loriann Ringgold, 2321 Sierra Drive, Elko, NV, 89801-4489.
Donations in David's memory may be made to: Harbor House, P.O. Box 253, Elko, NV, 89803 (A crisis/rescue center for domestic abuse. A very wonderful organization that greatly benefits our community) or Animal House (an organization devoted to rescuing unwanted/abandoned companion animals such as dogs and cats. They also spay/neuter pets to decrease the population of stray animals. Animal House also places pets in new homes.)

David,
My darling husband. I will have sweet dreams of you until we meet again.
Good night, my sweet prince.

Dearest David, It has been 7+ years since you left for heaven. My heart aches for you just the same as it did when I lost you. Honey, you were my best friend as well as my husband for 20+ years. I think of you so often. My sister, Lisa joined you in heaven on January 26th. Please take good care of her and my mother as well as your parents. I hope you were able to pick up Starla and Scooter from the Rainbow Bridge of heaven. If not, I will stop there on my way in one day. Please know that not a day goes by where I do not miss you so very much. I will forever be your girl. Always, Loriann

Dearest David, I cannot believe it was 5 years ago this day that you had to leave all of us. It has been a very difficult 5 years without you. I have learned what the word alone means. I wish I could call heaven and talk to you. In my heart of hearts, I know you are free and at peace and that we will meet again one day. You were the best thing that ever happened to me. I love you forever, Loriannie

Dear David, Your birthday is tomorrow. I have been thinking about you today. I was wondering if you have birthday parties in heaven? Or if every single day in heaven is just so beautiful? I hope you are with your parents, my mother and friend, Nome. And my sweet Uncle Tom. Both sets of grandparents. I have more loved ones in heaven than I do here. I miss you so very much. Please kiss and hug Scooter and Starla for me. Always, Loriann

My Darling Husband, It has been 16 months today since you took your last breath on this earth and left for heaven. I have had a very difficult time without you. Not a day goes by that I do not miss you. I wish I could talk to you - to hear your voice - to have you advise me on what to do. I have been in a small apartment for over a year. It is time to move on to a small home of my own. I found one and hope you would approve. I love you, my sweetheart. I wish I could hold your hand and see your smile.
Always Your Girl,

Darling, Today is 9 months since you had to leave me for heaven. I just miss you so much, baby. I dont know if a time will ever come that my heart does not just ache and hurt for you. Or a night to pass without longing for you to hold me in your arms. I am doing the best that I can. I want to make you proud of me. I have hired a personal trainer and am working with him here in the gym at the apartment building. I am fighting to get healthy and fit. I am going to live for the both of us. Oh sweetie, I am sending you kisses on angels wings straight to heaven. I Love You So Much!

My Darling Husband, It has now been 7 months since I last held you in my arms. I miss your gentle ways with me. I am not used to the harshness of the world. You made me your Princess for so long. I dream of you and can see you smiling at me and looking into my eyes. I miss your constant teasing. I miss your jokes and laughter. I miss you, baby. No one will ever love me the way you did, my sweetheart. My heart aches for you. I miss little Starla and Scooter so much. I miss our family life together. I think the sale on our home together will be done on Monday. All ties to Nevada broken. We will always have Teacup. I will return there every year and leave a little bit of you, Scooter & Starla. I will save enough of your ashes to be joined with mine one day and we will rest on our beloved Na Pali Mountain Coast in Kauai ~ the most beautiful place in the world. I live to see you again, my darling. Until then, I will always be your girl, Loriann

"If I should go tomorrow
It would never be goodbye,
For I have left my heart with you,
So don't you ever cry.
The love that's deep within me,
Shall reach you from the stars,
You'll feel it from the heavens,
And it will heal the scars."

Loriann, remember, the class of 76 is with you now and always.

THE SONG OF MEMORY
When someone we love
passes on beyond life
in the world that we know
and is gone,
A beautiful sense of their presence,
like music remembered by heart,
lingers on...
When someone we love
finds a wonderful home
in a world only faith can reveal,
Our memories can be
like a song in the heart
with the power to comfort and heal.
In quiet moments,
may you feel the presence
of your loved one
and the healing power
of memory.
Dear LA,
I was so sorry to hear about your loss. May God Bless you through your sorrow.

A life well-lived...
fond memories...
the heart is comforted by these.

Even in sadness, you must feel pride in the legacy left by someone so special. That spirit will continue to shine, lighting the way for others, leaving all of us an example to follow and a remarkable life to remember with grateful hearts.

LA, If there was one thing that that David wasn't shy about - it was telling all the guys at work how much he loved you and how great his life was because of you. You and he were very lucky.

LA, You know I loved David. Living directly across the street from you and Dave for 6 years has been just awesome. I never met a couple who loved each other more than the two of you. I know you miss him so much. I miss him so much. I get ready for work and there is no David grinning at me and at night coming home, seeing him waving at me. Loriann, he loved you like crazy. He thought you were a real, first class kind of woman with nothing but love in your heart. You can go on. I know it is hard, but you can do it. David would want you to.

Loriann, you know how I felt about David -- and Tim thought he was not only a good foreman of the electrical crew, but also a good friend. As I have known Lori since grade school, she recognized my father at work and discovered that David was his supervisor. David, Lori, and my parents reconnected as "Weiser" people and become close as adults. I have heard nothing but marvelous things from both my father and my mother about David. Lori, I am so very sorry for your loss, you definitely found a prince among the frogs! There is one more star shining in the sky, watching over you tonight.
