Charles Eady Obituary

Charles Benjamin Eady, Jr., 87, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday (May 17, 2016) at the Tennessee State Veterans Home. He was born on March 13, 1929 in Kelso, son of the late Charlie M. and Corrine Sisk Eady. Mr. Eady was a veteran of the United States Army and faithfully served in the Army Reserve. He was a graduate of Alabama A&M University where he received a bachelor of science, a master of education and a masters+45 degree. Charles enjoyed a long and rewarding teaching career, working in the Lincoln County School System for over forty years. He taught industrial arts, mathematics and special education. Charles was a faithful member of Lucy Memorial A.M.E. Church until its closing and then continued fellowship with the Mulberry A.M.E. Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Askins Eady, and his only sibling, Robert Eady. Mr. Eady Charles leaves to cherish fond memories his devoted sons, Al (Joyce) Eady of Murfreesboro and Ronald "Ike" Eady of Fayetteville; loving granddaughter, Ashley Eady of Murfreesboro; longtime devoted friend, Lucille Palmer of Fayetteville; sisters-in-law, Ann Eady of Fayetteville, Hazel Askins of Murfreesboro, Nancy (Freddie) Waggoner of Huntsville, Ala., Mary Jean (Donnie) Kibble of Fayetteville, Lizzie Askins of Fayetteville; brother-in-law, Frank Clifford (Gladys) Askins of Fayetteville; as well as many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 21, at 12 noon in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. until 12 noon. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr Eady was a fine and gentle soul. I was always glad when I saw him. My prayer is that the precious memories will overshadow the pain of loss. He will not be forgotten.
