Jeanie PEINADO Obituary

Jeanie Peinado passed away after a brief illness on February 12, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 73 years old. Born on April 5, 1943, in West Point, New York, Jeanie graduated from Irvin High School and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Texas Western College in 1966. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emilio Peinado, and father, Eugene Froemel. She is survived by her mother, Mildred Froemel; siblings Kathy Engebos, Mary Ellen Osborne, and Fred (Julieta) Froemel, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Lovingly known as "Aunt Jeanie" to many, she was dedicated to her family and friends. Jeanie owned several successful small businesses throughout her lifetime, and was always highly respected and appreciated by her clients, colleagues, and employees. She spent years traveling the world but really just wanted to stay home. Ever the hopeful romantic, she only liked movies with happy endings. She loved horses and dogs, tolerated people, and had a tendency to take in strays. Jeanie will be incredibly missed by her family and friends. Her final resting place will be by the side of her husband Emilio at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Santa Teresa, NM. At her request, services will not be held. In lieu of such, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in her name. Or, better yet, one could take in a stray. Aunt Jeanie, we love you.

Jeanie, you can look for Duayne now. He joined you 3 Aug 2018. We had 45 great years and he always thought you were a great person. I´ve so often thought of you and wished I had kept in closer contact over the years. You were my best boss and I loved working with and for you. Rest in Peace

I think of Jeannie often and one of my favorite memories of working for her was on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. We were always so busy there was no time for lunch. Jeannie would make tomato soup with macaroni in it and stand beside whoever was hungry and feed us. There was always talk of calling the labor department but I can´t think of one person who worked for her in the 3-4 years I was there that didn´t love her.

Jeanie was a very brilliant Social Security Representative. She always was ethical and helped so many people be able to lead better lives.

I had known Jeanie for over 25 years and highly respected her and her mentoring of her family and friends who continue to help SSA recipients.

Jeanie will be sorely missed by this community.
Rest and peace and know you were loved by many.
