Eva Robison Obituary

Eva Jewell Robison left us on August 23, 2008 to be reunited with her family in heaven. A most joyous reunion will be with Corey Robison, her beloved grandson. Mrs. Robison was born September 12, 1919 in Jackson, GA to Clarence and Gertrude Pulliam. She proudly served our country during World War II as a member of the U. S. Navy WAVES and later moved to New Mexico where she met and married our father, John Robison, who passed away in 2005. Known affectionately as the "Furr's Cafeteria salad lady", she retired after working for more than 20 years in both Lubbock and El Paso. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, August 29th followed by military graveside services at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation and viewing will be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, August 28, at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home of Denton, TX. Mrs. Robison is survived by her children Peggy Oliver of El Paso; Paula Shaw (Bryan) of Conway, AR; and Johnny Robison (Tana) of Arlington, TX. Her four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren will miss her greatly as will her namesake, niece Eva McCord of Dothan, AL. Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home of Denton, TX will be in charge of arrangements.

My Sweet Precious Mama:

I do not need a Mother's Day to remind me of how much I love and miss you since you have been gone. I remember and miss you with love daily. However, on this Mother's Day, now passing, I thank you for being my mother with your unconditional love, caring and encouragement. God sent me his best. I feel your presence so often. How I long to see your sparkling smile, hear your wonderful laughter and cheery voice. But, when I think of you, I can see and hear them in my memories. You were such a devoted mother to all your children and gave all you possibly could, even at your own sacrifice. You were the perfect mother for me and I proudly carry your memory and your name "Jewell." I look forward to our Heavenly Reunion when I can retrieve that missing part of my heart which went with you when you departed this earthly home. I will love you always. Your daughter for Eternity, Bunny

My how time seems to fly by. It doesn't seem like it has been a little over a year since I heard that one of a kind laughter of yours. This month brought my dearest aunt and mama to mind with your birthday's being so close. You two had a special bond and I was able to share in the bond through each of you. I miss and love you both.

Mama, I love and miss you so much. I miss our Sunday morning telephone chats. I would always share them with my students. Thank you for always being there for me during my most trying times. I was moved to put to verse a very important day in my life. My first day of school. This is my tribute to you and to my first grade teacher who passed recently.

My Poem for My Mother and My Teacher

In the fall of 1959
The day had finally come
My mama had bought me brand new clothes
Just for me her baby son

I remember my jeans were way too long
So she rolled them up in cuffs
It was cold outside that autumn day
On my ears she placed my muffs

With my Lone Ranger lunch pail in my hand
I was bundled from head to toe
She said “let’s jump into the car”
For it was time to go

She asked a neighbor to take us there
For my mama never learned to drive
I was so excited that autumn day
I had thought it would never arrive

We really didn’t have very far to go
It seemed to be just a block or two
So I quickly checked off all of my gear
One big fat pencil and Elmer’s glue

A Big Chief tablet and eight crayons
It seemed everything was there
We stopped and left the warmth of the car
And stepped into the crisp cold air

She gently took my hand in hers
And walked me to my room
She exclaimed how proud she was of me
And said she would be back soon

My first day of school was about to begin
And I was scared for a little while
Until a lady came over to me
And met me with a smile

“I’m Mrs. Reitz, your teacher” she softly said
And welcomed me to the first grade
I smiled back and it was not long
That my fears were all to fade

I never forgot you Mrs. Reitz
As I will never forget my mom
For it was you who took special care that day
Of my mama’s baby son

Its funny how time has moved so fast
Since that first day I went to school
Where I learned to read an interesting book
And I learned the golden rule

I was taught how to play hard but also play fair
I was taught how to win and to lose
I learned how to own up to what I did and said
And not to rely on some weak excuse

These things I learned have served me well
There are many I owe it to
But most of all I would thank my mom
And Mrs. Reitz I want to thank you

For you both were teachers
In your own special way
I’ve been blessed to become one too
So I pray that I can guide someone
In the way I was guided by you

Grannie,

There hasn't been a single day that u havent crossed my mind. Matti and Kati still pray for you at every meal. Funny how small children can remember things and people that they rarely got to see. Thanksgiving and Christmas just wont be the same! Wish mama and I could send you a goodie box to heaven! Although it is getting colder we all know that we have your beautiful smile to help warm and keep us comforted during these first holidays without you! I only wish I could have seen you one more time before you left us. I love and miss you more than these words can ever express Love Always,
Brennie

Sweet Mama,

It is so lonely here without you. I keep thinking that I need to go visit you, but then I realize I don't have anywhere to go.

Sometimes I just stand in the doorway of your room and remember you sitting there working your crossword puzzles, Buffy lying on the bed beside you.

I wish you could have had an easier time, you were in so much pain. I hope that now you are free from pain, breathing freely, able to stand up straight and having so much fun with Bigmama and Bigdaddy and all of your brothers and sisters.

I love and miss you so much.

My wonderful grandma,

I will miss you so. Just remember all of us down here every once in a while. Chelsee will always remember tea parties. I will always remember you making doll clothes for my dolls and having coffee with you in the mornings.

Love you always and forever

Remembering My Aunt,
My sweet mother honored me by giving me the name of her dear sister, Eva. I loved each Aunt but Aunt Eva was dearest to my heart.
I will always see her smile and hear her special voice and laughter.
She is gone from our presence but will live in our hearts forever.
I loved her dearly and will not say goodbye, but will say, rest in that heavely peace until we see each other again in heaven.
Your loving niece, Eva

My Dearest Grannie;

You are my heart, I will never forget the many times you had to call out to me to quit pilfering thru your things! I am so greatful that Matti got to know you and only wish that Kati-Bug could have known you the way I did. You will forever be remembered and greatly be missed by all of your kids, grandkids and great grands! We Love and miss you more than you will know! Love Always, Your Sweet Grandaughter "Brennie"
