MCNUTT Jane Skiles McNutt passed away peacefully on April 28th, 2011 after a brief illness. She was born in 1913, in Aubrey, Texas, to her beloved parents, Pearl Wilkins Skiles and Charles Skiles. She was actively playing duplicate bridge, seeing friends and gardening until she was suddenly debilitated by her illness. She looked beautiful, kept her great sense of humor and participated in life to the end. Her great passions were her family, friends, her beloved pets and her lovely garden. She appreciated all things beautiful, especially in nature and particularly enjoyed her flowers and greenery. She was generous, gracious, fiercely loyal and independent. She will be remembered for her elegant beauty, engaging presence and strong personality, that had a way of touching everyone with humor and charm. A match she describes as the "love of my life". There is no doubt that Jane's priority was always her family, and her dedication to them never wavered. Jane began her residential Real Estate career in the mid 1960's. She was associated with Holder and Co. for over 20 years and she often described that period as one of the happiest of her life. The opportunity to meet new people and professionally serve them was fulfilling and challenging to her.. She considered finding a family their home a most important priority and a privilege. Jane was a marvelous cook, an entertaining friend, excellent bridge player and wit. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Throughout her life she fought for the underprivileged and worked tirelessly for individuals in order to improve their lives. She championed them in finding affordable housing, legal representation documentation and obtaining long term employment. She was a source of encouragement, strength and support to those who needed help. Jane was a member of the Women's Club of El Paso, the Providence Memorial Hospital Volunteers, the El Paso Library, the Real Estate Association, and the El Paso Country Club. With gratitude, we thank Monte Vista Nursing Facility, the 300 unit, for providing and loving and professional care in her last month.
