My deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Butterworth family. In the few precious years I knew Mr. Butterworth, I quickly learned what an amazing and inspirational person he was. He taught me a lifetime worth of lessons about living each day to the fullest and accepting and embracing life as it comes. As the saying goes, there are some people who come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same. It is apparent that he was that person for all those he encountered.
He is the father-in-law I could have only dreamed of and the type of Grandfather you wish for, for your child. You will be sorely missed, but have left an abundance of memories I will always treasure and numerous life lessons we will pass on to George III.
We will always love you,
Kelli and Baby George Butterworth

Dear Nadine and Family,
It is to my misfortune that I didn't get the opportunity to know George personally. I wish my family had more time with him. I have heard so many wonderful stories about him through his family and my daughter, Kelli. His legacy lives on in the hearts of Nadine, Denise, Warren, Lori, and Raymond. It is so evident through them the values and lifes lessons he taught so well. I have delighted in the many stories that his family has shared with us. Extending deep and heartfelt sympathy to you and all your family. He will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him. May it be a source of inner stregth to know that their's a loving God watching over you and that, throughout this time of need, he'll stay close by your side. May God's presence ease your sorrow. May the memories of the fun you shared bring you gentle comfort. In our hearts we feel your loss.

My condolences to Nadine and all of the family. It was a great pleasure to be able to work with George and get to know the great person he truly was. He helped so many people without asking for anything in return. His sense of humor will be missed. He helped my family and me so much. I learned a lot from him and I will never forget everything he taught me.

I had the amazing opportunity to know Big G, as some of his children called him. I was very fortunate to have been able to get to know one of the most brilliant, respectable, ambitious, and fierce Fathers ever. He always had a ready smile and I can honestly say he was an amazing man to have in your corner, when he believed in you no one could change his mind. I saw what a beautiful heart he had for all four of his children and what an amazing husband he was to his lovely wife Nadine. Truly I have never learned so much from one man before and although I'm not certain he really knew, I truly loved him for being who he was. He will remain one of the most inspirational men that I will forever think of or upon in life circumstances. I'm so happy to know I will see him again in heaven. I pray all of you his family will be comforted and be sent peace beyond reason in this difficult time, but be given joy knowing you will be reunited!

Mr. Butterworth, there are no words to express how saddened I am knowing that you are no longer with us. You were truly a guardian angel! NO doubt.. You were the most caring person in the world. I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Nadine your wife, but I do hope to soon. We meet over the phone once while you were on a trip to Dallas, I believe! I want to say thank you for all you did for me and my family. You certainly made a difference in this world. Will miss you terribly. Connie Flores and kids!

I had the good fortune to have known George at both Austin HS and as a fraternity brother at Texas Western. While our lives diverged when we left TWC, I had the great experience to reconnect with George at the AHS Reunion in Oct 2010.
Nancy and I learned that George had done with his life what we all hope to do - have a loving family and spend our lives making a difference. It was evident that George had accomplished these goals and that everyone who came in contact with him felt blessed by the experience.
We send our deepest sympathies to Nadine and family. We want you to know that all of you will be in our prayers.

George and I grew up living in the same neighborhood; along with Howie Wilcox, Bill Uhlig, the Callahans, the Ellerbe's, and others who went to Crockett then on to Austin High School. It was great fun. Good times and many fond memories.
Later at the AHS 50th, George and I had time to catch up and I got a chance to find out what a great person he turned out to be. He had a great sense of humor, and was exactly the kind of person that you wanted for your friend.
Recently, Charlie and I had the good fortune to have lunch with George while he was in Dallas. It was a spur of the moment thing that just worked out. We laughed, told lawyer jokes, talked about AHS times, and in general just had a great get-together.
George was one of the good guys. He will always be remembered with a smile, and greatly missed.

George and his family were very good friends of me and my family during our years in El Paso. George stayed with my family at times during his days at the University of Houston. Though we had limited contact over the years, he was never far from our thoughts. We were able to reconnect at Austin High School's 50th reunion. Suzy and I send our deepest condolences, love, thoughts and prayers to his family. We will see you later, George.
