I had the opportunity to work with John at Centro San Vicente Clinic in 1990's when he was covering for a colleague. He was dedicated to his work and patients. It was an honor working with Mr. Walls. My condolences to his family.

Walls as we all called you at work, there are no words to express the emptiness that is felt at OCPC. It was a great pleasure and an honor to have met such a great man who never turned anyone away and genuinely cared about people. You will always have a space in my heart and in my thoughts, you will be forever missed. I know you don't want anyone to be sad so we will continue to talk about all the great moments we had at work, the games you would play with us and how loud you could yell at us sarcastically. You taught me a lot and I thank you for that. Love you dearly, till we meet again.

There are no words to comfort you all at this time. I did not know Mr. Walls, but i have had the honor of knowing three of his children. I know this, You are a loving, caring father that your children knew they could come to for guidance and a safe place. You have raised them in becoming fine young adults. I know they are proud to have you as a Dad. Peace be with you and your loved ones.

In the 8 years that I have known you i never saw you in a bad mood, you always had a smile on your face and was always creeping into work to see if anyone was on your chair. You were a true friend and was always there to answer my call when i needed any advise with anything. You taught me so many things and for that i will always be greatful. Your presence will surely be missed and it was a true honor to have met you. May you rest in peac

John was such an intimate part of Texas Tech Family Medicine life from 1995 to 2011. We are all reeling and so sad. But what a great PA, counselor, cut up, racer, Cowboys fan, organizer and great great friend. I could not have succeeded in leading the Department without his help. I will remember Christmas parties and ball games and his great gusto for life and his love for patients, family, friends, everyone. John, thanks for being such a memorable part of my life.
Love and condolences to all family and friends.

Helen and Brandon, My sincere condolences for your loss. John and I had recently talked about playing in a 50 and over basketball league this coming September. John and you have been the most supportive parents that a youth sports coach could ask for. My wife and I were very fortunate when our paths crossed over five years ago when Brandon first started playing basketball with the Spartans. May God Bless You during this time of need.
We will miss you, John.

John and I crossed paths first at Wm Beaumont, years ago. We shared patients. Always totally professional but the kindness and empathy was there in the background. Time went on, and we again shared patients, when each of us had turned in our uniforms. That great connection was still there, and patients always benefited. I still remember our last direct contact. John was enjoying supper at Carl's Junior's. I was in search of a patient to review critical postop instructions. The patient's family told me he was at CJ's. I scoured the restaurant...no patient! John recognized me and could see my distress. He said hello, and very kindly told me he had seen my patient walk out, and told me which direction to look. The story ended well, all thanks to John. John will be sorely missed.

John thank you! for having faith in me and believing in me everyday you will walk into my unit and spend time hearing me out and giving me advise when times got difficult you always gave me direct guidance and encouragement. I have become the Nurse Manager, I am today because of your mentoring. You were truly a patient and nurse advocate. Not only were you there with nursing and patient care advise but you helped me thru many stages in my life you even helped me find the perfect Harley. I am proud to say I ride a Fatboy just like you did thanks to you.
I am really going to miss you my friend but you will always live in my heart and every-time i push the start button and hear that engine roar ill know an angel its looking out for me thank you for everything my dear friend.

My thoughts and prayers go out to John's family, I met John when I first came to work at Texas Tech, he was a great mentor and also a friend who always gave me good advice, not just about work, but also about life. It was plain to see that John loved his job and the patients that he saw everyday. May God bless his entire family and bring peace to their hearts knowing that one day they will be able to see him again in heaven when we all have that big family reunion with loved ones and friends that we have lost, but above all with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.

So, so sorry to hear of Johns sudden passing. What I will remember is his advocacy on behalf of the patients. Although relegated to performing physical examinations at the hospital,he had a way of getting a more thorough history from the patient than often we did. Then he would just give you his sly smile and say, "I got more stuff doc." I admired him for his talents. I will miss him terribly.

Thank you Jesus, for allowing me to know him. ICE Officer.

So sorry to hear about John. He was a great friend and mentor to me when I first started at Texas Tech and without him, I probably would not be working here. He was a pioneer in El Paso Sports Medicine and his early work paved the way for our clinic and fellowship. I will alway remember his gregarious personality and infectious laugh. Rae Lynn's and my thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time.

To Johns family
My husband and I were deeply saddened to hear of Johns passing.
I had the privilege of being under Johns care. He made me laugh,he made me cry, I fought with him, he laughed at me. Most of all my appointments I thought were made so he and my husband could talk cars and racing, because that is pretty much what they did as they have been friends for many years. Somewhere in all of this I knew he had to have heard me, because he helped me, fought for me with doctors and insurances. I received the medical and mental help I needed and I am here today because of my earth angel.
I am forever thankful for John and Helen!
