Jerome Hoelscher Obituary
Jerry was a lifelong resident of Warren County, born April 21, 1933, to Frank E. Hoelscher and wife Lydia, nee Egger. He was the baby of a family of seven children. Jerry was married to Rita Mae Rigg July 25, 1959. They celebrated 52 years of marriage before her passing in June 2011.
He was also a lifelong member of Immanuals United Church of Christ, Holstein, where Jerry served on the church council and was a Sunday school teacher. He was one of the founding members of the Treloar Fire Department. Jerry also loved to travel, having visited all 50 states, including Canada and Mexico. He was a farmer for the majority of his life, but also drove a tour bus for Mid-American Coach and Tiger Coach for many years. Jerry and his wife Rita also owned The Little House Bed & Breakfast, Marthsville, and several rental properties in Warrenton.
Jerry is survived by his two children, Michael Hoelscher and wife Debra, and Kay Raterman and husband Jim; three grandchildren, Andy, Justin and Caitlyn; two great-grandchildren, Natalie and Mason; one brother, Rudy Hoelscher and wife Mary; very dear friend and companion, Doris O. Bunge; loving dog and companion, Cassie; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Hoelscher; parents, Frank and Lydia Hoelscher; and five siblings, Ruth Hanke, Harold Hoelscher, Frank "Bud" Hoelscher, Bob Hoeslcher and Elise Schaffner.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 23, at Martin Funeral Home from 3 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. at Immanuals UCC, Holstein. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Immanuals UCC, Holstein, in care of Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton, MO 63383.
