Malinda Rash Obituary

Malinda A. "Moe" Rash, nee Courtney, 42, Pacific, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, was carried away by the angels Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014.

Moe, daughter of Melvin Courtney and wife Shirley, nee Boyer, was born June 28, 1972, in St. Louis County. She received her education in Pacific. She was a member of Eagles Aerie 3842. Moe never met a stranger. She lived her life freely and had no fear. She was a true friend who would stand with you in times of need and help anyone who asked. Moe was a free spirit who was not afraid to speak her mind and follow her heart. She was a friend to all and touched many lives in her short tenure in this world. Moe was dearly loved and will be truly missed.

Moe is survived by three children, Christopher (Tiffany) Rash, Thomas Rash, and Kristina Rash; mother, Shirley Courtney; father, Melvin Courtney; four stepchildren, Stacy Rash, Joshua Rash, Amy Rash and Jason Rash; five grandchildren, Christopher, Alyssa, Josh Jr., Abby and Kinley; two brothers, Melvin (Karrie) Courtney II, and Kenneth (Debbie) Waters; two sisters, Sharon (Robert) Hannick, and Robin (Randall) Ray; 10 nephews, Melvin Courtney, Dalton Courtney, Levi Courtney, Cole Courtney, Shane (Mary) Orsborn, Michael (Kristie) Waters, Robert (Heather) Waters, Joshua (Skyler) Hill, Ryan Ray, and Ricky Ray; four nieces, Brandy (Justin) Phelps, Katrisha Rutherford (Robert Mays), Rachael Ray, and Kelsey Mathenia; four great-nieces, Matlynn Rutherford, Katlynn Mays, Samantha Phelps and Alaina Phelps; four great-nephews, Dylan Waters, Tyler Waters, Trenton Waters and Bradley Waters. Moe was a parent partner and lifelong friend with Thomas "Tinker" Rash.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Dustin Courtney; grandparents, Clarence and Dolly Boyer, and Leslie and Effie Courtney; one uncle, Leslie Courtney III; and one niece, Shayla Courtney.

A funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 22, at Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home, Pacific, with the Rev. Dave Willis officiating.

Interment was in Sunset Cemetery, Pacific.

Memorials may be given to the Rash Children Education Fund.

Arrangements were in care of Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home, Pacific.
