Nancy Lamson

1936 - 2016

Nancy Lamson passed away peacefully in Spokane Washington on October 7, 2016 at the age of 80. Born Nancy Nell Lancaster on September 13, 1936 in Estes Park to parents Robert and Nell Lancaster, Nancy grew up in Estes and graduated from Estes Park High School in 1954. Nancy married Jerry Lamson on November 10, 1969. She had been employed by the Trail-Gazette, The Coffee Bar Café, The Ford Garage, and Crowleys's Restaurant to name a few before opening Nancy's Restaurant in West Park Center along with her husband Jerry. They operated the restaurant from 1972 to 1977 at which time it became the Big Horn Café. Jerry passed away in 1990. In November of 2004 Nancy moved to Spokane Washington. Nancy enjoyed spending time with family, singing in the local choir, listening to books on tape and playing penny poker where she lived. In her early days she was a Girl Scout Leader, First Aid Instructor and loved to ski. Nancy is survived by her daughter Rose (Ron) Hersh of Estes Park, son Ron (Joanie) Spradling of Nine Mile Falls, WA. Three grandchildren; Tina Hersh of Elko, NV, Ryan (Amber) Spradling of Nine Mile Falls, WA, and Kevin (Kristin) Spradling of Nine Mile Falls, WA. Eight great grandchildren; Parker, Logan, Tanner, Maile, Ella, Konnor, Kash and Kole Spradling all of Nine Mile Falls, WA. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry Lamson, and brothers; William, Philip and Robert Lancaster. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Foothills Memorial Gardens in Longmont Colorado. The family would like to thank Horizon Hospice of Spokane for the care and comfort provided in Nancy's final days.
