Ronald Taylor Obituary


Ronald "Ron" E. Taylor, age 87, of East Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at his home.

Born on March 1, 1928, in Cranesville, he was a son of the late Glenn T. and Lydia Snyder Taylor.

Ron was a 1946 graduate of Albion High School and had been a foreman at Parker White Metal Company for 21 years prior to his retirement in 1990.

He was a member of the Masonic Western Star Lodge #304 F.& A.M. in Albion, the National Rifle Association, and Penn Shores Camp-N-Squares Square Dance Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine M. VanCise Taylor; his sisters: Teresa Heaton and Bonnie Beers; his brothers: Milford Taylor and Gordon Taylor; and his son-in-law Roy Ramey.

Ron is survived by two daughters Terry Ramey of Lake City and Dawnita Sterling and her husband Preston of Girard; three sisters: Janice Payne, Frieda Daugherty and Rita Huya; two brothers: Loren and Lawrence Taylor; five grandchildren: Stephen Kasper and his wife Staci of Springboro, Stephanie Kasper of Florida, Tosha Sterling of Erie, Michael Sterling (Allyson) of Texas and Brittany Sterling of Girard; and two great-grandchildren: Ronald and Alexis Kasper; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, in Girard, on Monday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in Erie County Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the organization of one's choice.

Ron and Gerry were always a fun couple, especially on the square dance floor where we danced at the Lads and Lassies. Ken Banister and I were always glad to be in their set and just to know them. God bless you all. Annabelle
