Our union members were on strike against the Robison Administration. Doc Orlando would visit our picket line with encouragement and sometimes brought us liquid refreshment to keep us warm from the January cold. I don't know that we will see his like again. We were all glad we knew him.

I was so sorry to hear of Dr.Orlando's passing. He was our optometrist for several years during the 1960s and 1970s. He not only was our eye doctor but a true friend. When I played baseball in the 12 year old league for Gem City Ice Cream, he was there for every game. My parents never had much money but I remember Dr. Orlando treating my mother and I with deep respect.
I will always remember Doc as a very impotant person in my life. He was extraordinarily special.
Phil Dougherty (son of Lena M. Forfia Dougherty)
