Robert Boyle Obituary
Robert Scott Boyle, age 65, Albion, passed away peacefully on February 26th at his residence, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on May 6, 1950 in Titusville, Pa., the son of the late Robert and Sophie Mostowy Boyle.
He was employed at Cytemp Specialty Steel in Titusville for 25 years in the hot mill and at the Lake Erie Correctional Institution in Conneaut, Ohio, for the past 15 years as a teacher and maintenance employee. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving from 1969 to 1971. He was an active member of the Albion VFW, Post 2341 and had served as Quartermaster. He was also a member of the Titusville Elks. He enjoyed sports, including golf, bowling, softball, and was Captain of the VETS #9 team of the Albion Pool League.
He graduated from Titusville High School, Titusville, Pa., class of 1968. He attended Grove City College and graduated from Edinboro University with an Associate of Engineering Technology degree in 1996.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Menzel Boyle, whom he married on February 6, 1972; two daughters, Erika (Eric) Fenstermaker, Lenexa, Kan. and Kristy (Kavon) Ford, Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren, Evan Fenstermaker, Desiana Ford, and Miles Ford; three sisters, Susan (Gary) Gafner, Titusville, Pa., Terri Boyle, Ann Arbor, Mich., and Lisa (Michael) Turzai, Frisco, Texas; and one brother, Steven (Ruth) Boyle, Titusville, Pa. Further survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Mattera Funeral Home, Albion, on Tuesday, March 1 from 2:00 to 5:00, and may attend funeral services at 5:00 p.m., with Rev. Harry Johns, officiating.
Memorials may be made to VNA of Erie County, 2253 West Grandview, Erie, or the Kids Turkey Shoot, c/o VFW Post 2341, 11411 US RT 6N, Albion, PA 16401.
