Eloise Tau Obituary

Eloise M. (Chipman) Tau, 88, of Girard went to be with the Lord on Sunday November 13, 2016 at Pleasant Ridge Manor.

She was born July 21 1928, in East Springfield, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles H. and Blanche R. (Shaffer) Chipman.

While attending night school she worked as a waitress at the BayView Restaurant and was very proud to graduate from Curtis High School, St. George, Staten Island, N.Y. in 1946. Following graduation from high school, she lived in Erie and worked for various manufacturing companies including General Electric, Mor-Lite in Girard and Hopkins Mfg. in Lake City. She most recently worked for Marx Toys where she worked for 17 years, retiring in 1981.

Throughout her life church attendance and service was very important to her. During her early years at the Federated Church she taught Sunday school and attended Bethel Assembly and Albion Assembly of God Churches. She was a 30 year member of the Fern Rebekah Lodge in Lake City, a member of the Independent Order of Forester's Court #1538.

She enjoyed baking and sharing her baked goods with family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Chipman, also sisters Maxine Olmstead and Lucile Klimek .

Survivors include her husband, Elmer R. Tau whom she married July 1, 1949 in Erie; two daughters, Phyllis E. Sivik (Fredrick) of Gibsonia Pa., and Cheryl R. Watters (Jay) of East Springfield; a son, Gerald E. Tau (Cathy) of Lake City; two brothers, Darrell Chipman (Thelma) and Fred Shaffer (Joan); three grandchildren, Aaron Watters (Noelle) of Mass., and Christine and Steven Sivik Gibsonia; one great grandson, Marcelino Watters and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday from 2-4 p.m .and 7-9 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard, and are invited to attend services there on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Ed Huntley and Rev. Allen Thorpe officiating.

Burial will be in the Springfield Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Albion Assembly of God Church, 11311 RT 18, Albion, Pa., 16401 or to Friends of Pleasant Ridge Manor, 8300 W. Ridge Rd., Girard, PA 16417
