I believe Sr. Mary Louise St. John tutored me in math the summer of
1969 following my completing 8th grade at St. Mary's Academy, Glens Falls, NY. I had failed math in both 7th and 8th grades. Using workbooks, she methodically worked me back to where I thoroughly knew my math. I believe we were in a 4th grade workbook. From there we worked forward through 8th grade math and beyond. I hated every minute of it as I just wanted to play with my friends. I secured an A+ in Algebra in 9th grade and announced to my parents that I wanted to be a math teacher. My Regents scholarship and selection to the National Honor Society would never have happened without her guidance. Thank you Sr. Mary Louise, you changed my life-Jim McCabe, Class of '73, St. Mary's Academy

Mary Louise was the most extraordinarily free woman I ever met. I trust that, from her place of heavenly dance, she will continue to help all of us to grow into the freedom she experienced and taught throughout her life.

Dear Lou,
May you jitterbug, waltz, tango, swing and clog until your heart's content! You are and will always be my favorite sage. Thank God for your life and all the humor, surprise, compassion, enlightenment, warmth and wisdom you tucked in my heart. May your spirit rejoice in its freedom and fullness, my great friend.
Love,
Holly
