Maxine Youngs Krichbaum Hoffman

Maxine Youngs Krichbaum Hoffman, 96, of Litchfield Park, Ariz., passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015. She was born on October 1, 1919 in Albion, daughter of the late Lynn and Nancy (Eldridge) Youngs.

She married T.C. Krichbaum "Clair" in 1940. After his passing in 1962, she became an LPN and worked at Pleasant Ridge Manor. Upon marrying Carl Hoffman in 1967, they enjoyed traveling in much of the U.S. He passed in 1978. In the early 1990s, she started baking in her son-in-law's grocery store, Van Slykes Food Mart, in McKean. She baked there until the store was sold in 2002. She later moved to Arizona in 2008 with Peggy and Art.

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Van Slyke, grandchildren, Carol (Phil Shultz) Daniels of Arizona, her sons, Jeremy and Scott, Timothy of Erie, children, Jessica, Thomas, Jillian (Steven), and great-great-granddaughter, Alexa, Brenda Van Slyke of Arizona, John (Trang) of Arizona, children, Kensei, Eric and Anna, Debra (Dale) Sande of Arizona, and her children, Isiah, Lelaina, and Grace.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepson, T.C. "Buck" Krichbaum Jr. in 1944, daughter, Patsy in 1953, husband, Clair in 1962, husband Carl in 1978, also brothers, Wallace and Glenn, sister, Esther Harrington, and her beloved son-in-law, Art Van Slyke.

Private services were held for the family in Arizona. Interment will be in Albion Cemetery.
