Viola Walbridge Obituary

Viola Rachael (Kultti) Walbridge Viola R. Walbridge, age 85 of West Springfield, Pa. passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Pleasant Ridge Manor in Fairview Twp., Pa. Viola was born on January 5, 1923, the daughter of the late Jacob Edward and Sanni (Jakela) Kultti of Conneaut, Ohio. She was a member of the Federated Church in East Springfield, Pa. where she taught Childrens’ Sunday School for many years. She had been a member of the East Springfield Women’s Club for several years and volunteered for many years at the East and former West Springfield School PTO. She loved reading, gardening, traveling and being a Grandmother. Viola was preceded in death by her late husband, Donald Walbridge who passed away on September 26, 2005. She leaves behind five children, Connie Griffith of Etters, Pa, Ron Walbridge and his wife, Sheri of Conneaut, Ohio, Doug Walbridge and his partner, Cindy Buterbaugh of East Springfield, Wendy Mlakar and her partner Wade Gibbons of West Springfield and Terry Walbridge and his wife, Stacey of Edinboro, Pa. Viola is also survived by ten grandchildren, Christina Griffith Weganheim, Joshua Griffith, Sara and Seth Walbridge, Derek, Dustin and Drew Walbridge, Alexis Mlakar and Grace and Jack Walbridge. She is also survived by sisters Mildred Richards of Conneaut, Ohio, Miriam Barthelson of Girard, Pa., and Margaret Bahny of El Segundo, Calif. A Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, Pa. A United Burial of both Don and Viola will be held directly after the services at Springfield Cemetery.
