Bill devoted his life to developing children, men and women, dedicating his vibrant energies to teaching values of health, integrity, teamwork and sportsmanship as a coach and physical educator. He leaves a legacy of building young men and other coaches through his coaching programs in football, basketball and track. His fervent commitment to football began at Purcell Marian High School, Cincinnati, Ohio, where his teams were “Greater Cincinnati” champions five years and the undefeated Ohio State champions in 1960. He continued his exciting coaching career in Arizona and Pennsylvania, becoming head football coach at Edinboro State University and Cathedral Prep High School, where he lead the team to “City Series” and “Section I” championships three consecutive years. His teams’ winning seasons continued at Vineland High School, Vineland, N.J., becoming Cumberland County champions (three yrs), “South Jersey Conference” champions and reaching the state playoffs two years. Bill was also an entrepreneur and family business owner of Karmelkorn Shoppe and Sand Dollar Cards and Gifts. He was the Chairman of the Music Scholarship Fundraising Committee for the Wayne Newton International Friends Club. Bill is known for his extraordinary zest for life. His natural enthusiasm, constant smile and positive outlook live on through the thousands of lives he touched. He lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. He had a gift to remain upbeat and inspired for those around him. He was a wealthy man-rich with strong faith and character, loving family and friends, and quick sense of humor. He brought irrepressible passion to his love of lifelong learning and exploring, sports, gardening, exercise, reading, music, traveling and culinary interests. Only knew Coach Cutcher the first year I attended and played at Edinboro State in 1967 and remember his encouraging manner.

Coach Cutcher was the line coach at Purcell (now Purcell-Marian) in my years. He had superb knack in teaching linemen how to get off the ball and block. Many of his former charges went on to play in college and undoubtedly used the skills fostered by Coach.

Played for Coach Cutcher at Edinboro College (1967). He was a great man and I will never forget him. I wish I would have had the opportunity to thank him in my latter life for all he did for me on and off the field

My thoughts and prayers go out to Coach Cutcher's family. Having the opportunity to play for him during the 1974-1975 season taught me the values of teamwork and accountability. He demonstrated these outstanding traits on a daily basis and I am sure he had a positive effect on many young men.

My thoughts and prayers are with Coach Cutcher's family in your time of loss.

I was very fortunate to play quarterback for Coach at Erie Prep in 1974-75, and I fondly remember his positive attitude and dry wit on the sidelines -- especially when things weren't going well. Coach was a great teacher of the game, and I remember he was particularly amused by my inability to throw a spiral. (Sorry, Coach -- I still can't!)

May your many wonderful memories, and the love of family and friends, bring you comfort in the days ahead.

I played under Coach for 3 years at Cathedral Prep having learned so much from his coaching philosophy and how it affected life beyond football. Respect God as #1 in your life, hard work, honesty, discipline, respect for others, never quit & always embrace challenges... were his attributes to name a few. Please know that his positive influence upon the many athletes he coached will be passed on for ages.

I would like to send my condolences to Mrs. Cutcher and family. It was a honor to be with Coach Cutcher when he 1st came to Leonard. He was one hell of a football coach and person. I will always remember no matter how hard he made you work he would work just as hard.
The best way I could Honor Coach is I would line up and play for any time.

As a player for Coach Cutcher (JILHS Class of '84), I recall his demand for perfection, yet his understanding that he was mentoring young men, ages 14 - 18. He surrounded himself with great men, like coaches Jim Baker and Jake van Schoyk, and host of other coaches who contributed to our success, both on and off the field. To his son Steve, who graduated with us, I hope you can find comfort in your Dad's very fulfilling life. I still laugh out loud whenever I hear anything close to a "git git git" or a similar encouraging yell from a coach. Coach Cutcher - thank you for being demanding. The players from the Class of '84 and '85 are better off for it. Rick Sartory
