Gladys D. Minich

Gladys D. Minich, beloved wife of Rev. Mayne Minich, whom she married in December of 1941, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017, at Sarah Reed Retirement Center. She was born in Climax, Pa., on December 18, 1924, daughter of the late James and Ethyl (Ealey) Drayer.

Gladys was a pastor's wife, stay-at-home mom for almost 60 years, assisting her late husband, Rev. Mayne Minich, in his calling and church work, 18 years of which were at the Erie First Church of the Nazarene and 20 years at Albion Wesleyan Nazarene.

Gladys is survived by one daughter, Janet Kay Acton (Don) of Union City; one son, Larry D. Minich (Jean) of Waterford; five grandchildren, Greg Waite, Doug Minich, Greta Krah, Shelly Minich and Carrie Sue Nearhoff; and two great-grandchildren, Braeden and Kendal Nearhoff, all of the Erie area. She is further survived by a brother, Jerry Drayer (Jane) of Geneva, N.Y., and many nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Drayer and two sisters, Eileen Reed and Shirley Bradley.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home., Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday at the Albion Church of the Nazarene, 9578 Rt. 6N West, from 2 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Wayne Hennen and Rev. Barry Mohney. Private interment, North Freedom Cemetery, Armstrong Co.
