Catherine Marcinowski Obituary

Catherine C. Hecker Marcinowski Charter Member Our Lady of the Lake Church Catherine C. Hecker Marcinowski, 93, of Meadville St., Edinboro, died Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at Hamot Medical Center. She was born in Saegertown, Pa., on September 17, 1912, the daughter of the late John and Alice Carroll Hecker. She graduated from Meadville High School in 1930. Always a compassionate, caring and faith-filled woman, she was a charter member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Edinboro, and was a past member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She had been employed several years at Talon, Meadville, before WWII, and owned and operated ‘The Tea Room’ in Edinboro after the War. She worked at Edinboro State College, at Compton Hall, from 1962 until she retired in 1976. A longtime resident of Edinboro, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed political repartee, reading, sewing, baking for church social events, Our Lady of the Lake Bible study group, and her family. She was a lifetime member of the Edinboro Area Historical Society. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Marcinowski, in July of 2000; and her sister, Winifred Donnell. Survivors include two sons, M. Gary Marcinowski, S.M., of Dayton, Ohio, and Jay R. Marcinowski and his wife Dotty, of Edinboro; two cousins, Joe Hecker and his wife Alice, of Edinboro, and Eugene Hecker and his wife Stella, of Girard; and also many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday, October 10, 2005, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie St., Edinboro, an Independent Care Group Affiliate. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 128 Sunset Dr., Edinboro, on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 11a.m., with Fr. John Jacquel officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Crossingville. Memorials may be made to the Our Lady of the Lake Building Fund, 128 Sunset Dr., Edinboro, the Edinboro Vol. Fire Department, 125 Meadville Street, Edinboro, or the Edinboro Area Historical Society, P.O.
