Ronald Borgeson Obituary

Loving Husband, Father, Papa Ronald Craig Borgeson, age 79, of Fairview, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at his home. Born June 18, 1933, in Eldred, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank E. and Violet M. Peasley Borgeson. Ron was a graduate of Mt. Vernon Academy, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and he studied at Gannon. He served in the US Navy, during the Korean War, on the USS Pervis. Ron "Tiny" was a lineman and dispatcher for Penelec, for 35 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, riding his three-wheeled motorcycle, coaching Little League Baseball, elementary and junior high basketball, and was a well known umpire in Warren, Pa. Ron was a member of the Warren Masonic Lodge, the Zem Zem Temple, Fairview American Legion Post 742, and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 740 of Edinboro/McKean. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife Wanda J. Borgeson, a daughter, Danette J. Kresak, and a brother, Richard F. Borgeson. He is survived by two sons: Ronald F. Borgeson and his wife Karen of Dover, Pa., Richard C. Borgeson and his wife Barbara of Edinboro; two grandsons: Steven C. Miller of Baltimore, Md., and Brock L. Borgeson of Edinboro; a sister: Edwina K. Smith and her husband Calvin of Woodbridge, Va., several nieces and nephews, and his buddy Emily. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, in Girard, on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m., in Burton's All Faiths Chapel.
