Louise Mushrush Obituary


Louise T. Mushrush, age 84, of Meadville, Pa., passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015, at the Marquette Hospice House.

She was born on March 5, 1931, in Meadville, Pa., the daughter of the late Richard C. and Julia M. Coon Truran. She married A. Wayne Mushrush on June 25, 1955 and together they had celebrated 44 years of marriage at the time of his death, on April 27, 2000.

Louise was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Meadville, Pa. She had worked as a telephone operator at Bell Telephone Company and had worked at the Plaza Card Shoppe. Louise was a member of the West Mead #1 Ladies Auxiliary and also volunteered as a Grandma Reader at Neason Hill Elementary School.

Louise is survived by two sons, Steven Mushrush (Marion) of Erie, Pa., and David Mushrush (Joan) of Meadville, Pa.; four grandchildren, Bryon Mushrush (Haley) of Leavenworth, Kan, Diane Alibaruho (Chris) of Gainesville, Va., Jessica Gruskiewicz (Brandon) of Alexandria, Va., and Jacob Mushrush (Amanda Battellino) of Meadville, Pa.; six great-grandchildren, Brandon, Dominic, and Christian Alibaruho and Molly, Daniel, and Grant Mushrush; two sisters, Charlotte Kasbee of Cambridge Springs, Pa. and Margery Filegar (John) of Meadville, Pa.; a brother-in-law, John Leffler of Greenville, Pa.; and is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Louise was preceded in death by a brother, Richard C. Truran; three sisters-in-law, Helen Truran, Geraldine Crabb, and Shirley Leffler; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Kasbee and Ken Crabb.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of Hospice of Crawford County and the Marquette Hospice House, as well as to the staff and residents at the Hillside Home, for all of the care and friendship given to Louise.

Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of the Funeral Service at 12 noon on Saturday, at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, Pa. The Rev. Dr. Brian Jensen, Pastor at First Presbyterian Church, Meadville, Pa., will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Township, Pa.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Marquette Hospice House, 464 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
