Elijah Jackson Obituary
Elijah Di'zeke "Chubby" Jackson passed away unexpectedly, on July 24, 2015, at the age of 16. Elijah was born and raised in Erie, Pa. His 17th birthday would have been on September 4, 2015.
Elijah was born and is survived by his parents Vanessa R. Belen and Clinton Charles Jackson. He is also survived by stepfather Caonabo Camilo Jr., grandparents Lily Mitchell and husband Eddie Mitchell Jr., and Eva Butterfield, great-grandmothers Isabella Arce and Mary Jackson, great-grandfather Miguel Belen, siblings Kitana Camilo, Caonabo Hezekiah Camilo, Tatyana Jackson, Madison Jackson, Azaiah Jackson, Kechawn Douglas, Ashanti Allen, and Alex Rodiguez, aunts Sintique Lebron, Cassandra Camilo, Angela Jackson, Cora White, Rosie Span, Nelly Span, uncles Angel Lebron, Camilo Suriel, Marcus Mitchell, Tommy Dunlap, Billy White, William Jackson Jr., Jeffery Jackson, Kenny White, Willie Jackson, Franklin Dunlap, and Honest Dunlap, and many cousins, friends, and loved ones.
Elijah would have been a Junior at East High School. His passion was playing basketball, and he was a member of the Erie Crossover Basketball team and the Spoons League. He also enjoyed spending his free time playing basketball at the Glenwood YMCA.
Elijah was always the life of the party, known for making jokes, playing pranks, and was the center of attention with his larger than life personality. He was goofy and fun, enjoyed dancing, music, and fashion. He developed his own unique sense of style and was known as a trend-setter. He was quite the ladies man, and adored by many. He was considered a loyal, honest, and respectable friend who just loved to live life.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m., at Law Funeral Home, at 2926 Pine Ave., Erie, PA 16504. A public funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at Greater Calvary Full Gospel Baptist Church, at 2624 German Street, Erie, PA 16504. Following the funeral service, Elijah will be buried at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery, and the family will then host a repass at Sullivan's Pub, at 301 French Street, Erie, PA 16507.
The family has entrusted arrangements to Pitts Funeral Home.

I wasn.t physically present at the funeral home or the church, but I WAS THERE IN THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. No one knows when our time will be so therefore, there was nothing that could have been done to change this. Know that God is always present and Elijah is with HIM.

Elijah was one of my favorite students at SV -- always smiling, always laughing, usually dancing. He would often pop his head into my room just to say hello and make sure the class I had that period was being nice to me. He was so much smarter than he liked to let on, and he had so much potential. I'm so very sorry for your loss, and I hope you may find comfort in the knowledge that even though his life was far too short, he touched so many lives in that short time.

Elijah I cannot believe your gone already you still had a long life to live.You always use to call me peaches and our family and yours did a lot of things together in our childhood. The last time I seen you was at the East Side YMCA outside pool.
