Mr. Robert Harry Jourdan, 83, of Bartlesville, died at 1:52 P.M. Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at his home in Bartlesville.
Mr. Jourdan's family will receive guests for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 3 P.M. until 5 P. M.. Following the visitation in Bartlesville, Mr. Jourdan will be transported to Sweetwater County, Wyoming for interment.
In lieu of flowers the Jourdan family has requested memorial donations be made to Cal Farley's Boy's Ranch, c/o Trisha Wakeman, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, Texas 79174.
Mr. Jourdan was born on August 29, 1931 at Del Rio, Texas to Jerome W. and Inez Jourdan. He was employed with Phillips Petroleum in 1951 in Alvin, TX as a roustabout then upon completing his BS Degree at Houston University he transferred to Employee Relations in Odessa, TX. After moving with the company to Wyoming, then later to the Bartlesville home office where he retired after 35 years as an Administrative Specialist. Following retirement he became a freelance writer and opened a small rifle shop. Through his writing, Precision Shooting Magazine placed him on the writing staff where he continued for 20 years as lead writer on rifles and a Board of Director.
Mr. Jourdan is survived by his wife, Maryline Jourdan, of Bartlesville, his children, Linda Jourdan of Wylie, Texas, Michael Jourdan and wife Nancy of Douglas, Wyoming, Connie Sevier and husband Gary of Lovington, New Mexico, Forrest Jourdan of Spicewood, Texas, and Patricia Tunnell and husband John of Santa Fe, New Mexico, his step children, Rita Harber and husband James of Yates Center, Kansas and Melissa Shull of Bartlesville, one brother, Jerry Jourdan of Alvin, Texas one sister, Doradeane Ohnheiser and husband Rudy of Rockport, Texas, four grandchildren, six step grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
