Mary Maldonado Obituary

Mary Vargas Maldonado, age 90, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 in the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville.
Mary Vargas Maldonado was born on August 23, 1925 in Dewey Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Alfonso Vargas and Delores Ruiz Vargas. She grew up and attended school in Dewey. Mary and Visente Maldonado were united in marriage in Bartlesville on January 5, 1947.
Mary was employed with the Dewey Public School system for 15 years before her retirement in 1980. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Dewey. Other memberships included the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Our Lady of Guadalupe Altar Society.
Survivors include her husband, Visente; three sons, Manuel and Peggy Maldonado of Dewey, Richard and Billie Jean Maldonado of Bartlesville, Visente Jr. and Ann Maldonado of Skiatook, Oklahoma; two daughters, Teresa and her husband, Vincent Medina, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, and Monica Maldonado of Collinsville; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; one son Martin Maldonado; three brothers, Alfonso Jr., Pastor, and Clemente Vargas; and three sisters, Emilia Martinez, Francis Gomez, and Cecilia Meade.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Mary's name be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 400 W. 9th St., Dewey, OK 74029.
Come and go visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 AM-8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. Family will be present to greet friends from 6:00-7:00 PM. A Rosary will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. A Mass of the Resurrection for Mary will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM in St. John Catholic Church. Father Ernesto Calvillo will be the celebrant.
