D. Gibson Obituary

Mrs. D. Charline Gibson, 80, resident of Dewey, Oklahoma, passed away at 2:05 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2010, in the Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gibson will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 22, 2010, in the Arnold Moore-Dewey Funeral Home Chapel, 802 N. Cherokee, Dewey. The officiant will be Rev. Rick Robart. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Dewey City Cemetery by the Arnold Moore-Dewey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gibson will lie in state in the Arnold Moore-Dewey Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 21, beginning at 10 a.m., with family present from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials honoring Mrs. Gibson may be sent to the Dewey United Methodist Church, 618 N. Delaware, Dewey, OK 74029; or to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, c/o the University of Texas, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Dora "Charline" Gantz was born September 2, 1929 in Casper, Wyoming. She was the daughter of the late DeLoyd E. Gantz and Laura V. (Isaacs) Gantz. She was a graduate of the Holton, Kansas High School, Class of 1946.
On June 21, 1946, Charline and Kenneth Eugene Gibson were united in marriage in Holton. They made their first home in the Bartlesville-Dewey community. In 1947, both Charline and Kenneth were employed by the local Phillips Petroleum Company, where Kenneth retired after 38 years of service. Charline was a key punch operator and she retired in 1949 to become a full-time wife and mother. Her family was her career. Along with caring for her family, Charline loved to fish and cross-stitch. The Gibsons continued living in Dewey after Kenneth's retirement. He preceded Charline in death on April 15, 1998 and she had continued her Dewey residence since that time.
Charline was a member of the Dewey United Methodist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Karen Sue Sisco and her husband, Terry, Bartlesville, and Laura Gail Garland and her husband, Greg, of The Woodlands, Texas; adopted daughter, Susan Whitson-Julian; six grandchildren, Tony Lance Sisco, Skyler Kent Sisco, Jared D. Coppedge, Stacey M. Coppedge, Timothy R. Garland, and Jon C. Garland; and eight great-grandchildren, Austin D. Coppedge, Logan J. Dawson, Mackenzie L. Dawson, Kamdyn P. Dawson, Allie G. Sisco, Caleb L. Sisco, Riley L. Sisco and Mason E. Drager. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth E. Gibson; three brothers and two sisters; and an infant daughter.
