To the Caputi family:

My husband Phil and I, as well as my sons and mother, were devastated to hear of Paul’s passing. Paul was such a warm and gentle man and we will miss him. One of our greatest memories of Paul was what a great dad he was and how much he loved his family.

We will miss you Paul.

FROM THE NORTH CENTRAL DETACHMENT 1076 MARINE CORPS LEAGUE

Please accept our deepest regrets and condolences on the passing of Marine Veteran Paul Caputi.
There is a poem written by a Marine in the Korean War.
It goes like this,

Do not stand by my grave and weep …
I am not there; I do not sleep.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds circling in flight.
Do not stand by my grave and cry ...
I am not there. I did not die.
I am a Marine now and always
protecting and serving our
Supreme Father into infinity.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
