Robin Peirce Obituary

Robin J. Peirce
of Westminster; 59

WESTMINSTER -- Loving, kind, compassionate Mother, Wife, Grandmother and Friend. These are all words that personify this amazing woman. Robin J. Peirce, 59, peacefully passed away on March 24, 2016, after a courageous and fierce battle with cancer.

Robin was born July 1, 1956 in Mansfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert Peirce and Jane (Buker) Miner. She was predeceased by her sister, Saundra (Peirce) Swanson of North Carolina. Robin graduated from Simmons School of Social Work with an MSW in 1995. She has worked for the Ashburnham Westminster School District as an Adjustment Counselor for the past 18 years.

She will be most remembered for her passionate love of family and friends. The countless lives that she has touched as a parent, friend, colleague and therapist will be her legacy as we move forward with her in our hearts. Robin once wrote that she was, "So grateful to have known and experienced such love for so many. So grateful to have had my love received. So grateful to be known and loved just as I am. No greater gift."

Robin took pleasure in gardening, shopping, listening to music and dancing. In her earlier years, she danced professionally and co-directed a modern dance company. But mostly, she loved to break out in dance and share happiness with those around her. Recently Robin choreographed a Flash Mob at the request of friends. The laughter and joy this endeavor brought will remain with those involved for years to come.

Robin was loved and supported through life by her wife and partner of 25 years, Donna, her sons, Michael P. Brown and Zachary P. Wales, and his wife, Meaghan (Woodard) Wales; her sister, Vickie (Peirce) Evans of Ohio and her husband, Stan. The absolute loves of her life were her three granddaughters, Zoe Mae Wales, Charlotte Grace Brown and Naya Peirce Wales. All you had to do is mention her grandchildren and she could light up the room with pure joy. Her laughter was infectious and her smile could lift your spirits from the lowest spot. Robin believed in making very second count. Her wish for those left behind is to "Make it Matter", each and every moment.

PEIRCE -- A Celebration of Life will be held May 15, 2016 at Wachusett Mountain from 12-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Pan Mass Challenge at http://profile.pmc.org/MB0568 to support her son, Michael who is riding in her honor; or to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. www.richardsonfuneralhome.net

I am so sorry to recently learn of Robin's passing. She changed my life. As my first dance teacher at J'Town gymnastics, Robin incorporated me into a Fleet Street Dance Company production, as well as Shakespeare in the Fields in Louisville, Ky. She recommended formal ballet lessons, and I danced professionally for 20 years, and now teach. Robin will forever remain etched in the fabric of my life, an inspiration, and dear to my heart. My deepest condolences to her friends and family.

The the family O Robin Pierce, I am sorry for your loss. My fondest memories of Mrs. Pierce were at Overlook and Okamont, but more with Okamont. It was there that I was part of a Theater Club group with her and would work each day towards making a small show for the end of the year that would make all of us laugh and smile. I greatly enjoyed going to her office and playing with the various toys and items she kept, like the meditation balls. I could sit for hours (though I was never able to stay that long) rolling them in my hand as we talked about school and life. I will greatly miss not having more of those joyous memories.
