As a Westminster resident who has lived on Wymans Lake for 48 years, I still have fond memories of pedaling my bike to Hildreth's Variety Store. We would pool our change and buy a big bag of penny candy. Mrs. Hildreth would never rush us as we made those all important decisions in making our purchases. She had the patience and sweetness of a saint! In later years we would drive over to the store to buy some of those delicious ham & cheese grinders that Mr. Hildreth was known for.
