I was very fortunate to have had Dr. Potterfield when I was a student at Francis Marion in the late 70's and early 80's. He was a WONDERFUL professor!!!! I hope your precious memories and God's peace will comfort you ......

Dear Anne and Family, I am so saddened to hear of Dr. Jim's death and pray that God will be near and dear to you now and in the adjustment days ahead.
I so fondly remember son John's many visits with my sons William and Bryant at the beach house in North Myrtle Beach. We could tell that John came from a wonderful family. We are blessed to know you and hope we can stay connected.
With love,
Muriel O'Tuel, North Myrtle Beach, SC

So sorry to hear about Dr. Potterfield. One of my favorite professors at Francis Marion.

Dr. Potterfield was the influence I needed in the 70's to make the decision to become a teacher. That has been over 40 years, and I have had a wonderful career, all because of Dr. Potterfield's patience and influence in my life. God bless you all. He will surely be missed.

Potterfields...I'm truly sorry to know that Dr. Jim is gone. I've got about a thousand little lead soldiers on a shelf to remind me of who helped fuel my interest in them. He was a really great guy. Sorry that I won't be there tomorrow but Lily and I will be in Florence to see you next week.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember being amazed at the detail of all the miniatures he had on display and look back fondly on the many childhood memories at your house. My best to you, Jebb and all of the Potterfields in you mourning.

I always looked forward to Dr. Potterfield's lectures. I did become a teacher due to his patient guidance. May God and your memories give you great comfort.
