Orlando Brillante Obituary
Indialantic, FL
Orlando E. Brillante, 89, passed into the arms of our Lord on Saturday, October 11, 2014. He was a resident of Indialantic since 1964 where he always had a willingness to serve others in his community and will be remembered for his kindness and generosity to all. He served in the Army from 1943 - 1964 in the Africa, Italy, and Korean campaigns retiring as Major.
He pioneered cable television in the State of FL and was founder and past president of Florida TV Cable. He was appointed by Governor Bob Graham as State Tele-Communication Consultant. He was also past president of the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce, Astronaut Trail Association, Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis Club, Honor America. He was a past chairperson of the Code Enforcement Board; Brevard Legislative Week-end Committee: Treasure/member Brevard Civilian Military Council, a lifetime member of VFW Post 4206, and usher at Holy Name of Jesus.
He leaves memories to be cherished by his beloved wife, Alda; children, Cheryl Link of Jacksonville, Larry Brillante (Mariane) of Indialantic, and Robert Brillante (Dana) of Tallahassee; grandsons, Robert Link (Jamie), Bret Brillante, Chad Brillante (Brittany), Holden Link and great grandson, Finn Link.
Visitation will be at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home on Thursday, October 16th from 5 - 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Friday, October 17th at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Honor America Inc. (Melbourne) or Health First Hospice. Condolences may be shared at davisseawinds.com

Prayers are with all of you during this time of grief. Orlando and my dad, Adger Smith, were good friends and served on many boards, committees, etc., together. Dad always had kind words about your Dad. He was a wonderful member of our community. May God be with each of you.

I went from coming up knowing Brill as a visionary business person, to following in some of his community footsteps. He was an amazing colleague across those years, and never forgot to come over and say hi, how's it going whenever we met. He will be greatly missed.
