Frank Romero Obituary

Frank Romero - Palm Bay - Frank Romero, 81, passed away Thursday morning, July 9, 2009 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. Frank was born in NY City on June 26, 1928 to the late Francisco and Ernestine Velez Romero. Frank loved his country and proudly served in the US Army from January 1946 through January 1948. He was stationed in Munich, Germany with the occupational forces after World War II. Frank worked for 31 years for the NY City Transit Authority (when it was known as MABSTO), retiring as a manager and was involved in NY City politics. He was an active mem ber of the Spanish - Ameri can Veterans Association and the Palm Bay Christian Church. Frank loved baseball and was an avid Yankees fan. He was a loving husband, father and proud grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carmen; son, Anthony, and his daughter and granddaughter, Anette and Isabela, all of Palm Bay. Calling hours will be held at South Brevard Funeral Home, 1001 S. Hickory St, Melbourne, today, July 11th, 2 - 5 p.m., followed by a reception at the family home on Nemo Circle, Palm Bay at 6 p.m. Funeral service will be tomorrow , July 12th, 2 p.m. at Palm Bay Christian Church, 344 Emerson Dr NE Palm Bay. Interment will take place at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ at a later date.
