Eva Keenan Obituary


Eva P. Keenan, 92, of the 100 block of Gainsborough Square, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 7, 2011 in Chesapeake. She was born in Superior, WV to the late Charles W. and Fannie B. Porter.

Aside from her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, K.K. "Sam" Keenan; and a sister, Elizabeth P. "Libby" Morgan.

Eva, or "Dickie" as she was known for most of her life, was a member of First Emmanuel Baptist Church in Chesapeake. She was a P.M. of Francis Chapter #28 OES in Clay, WV, a charter member and Secretary Emeritus of Hadji Court #88 of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America in Melbourne, FL.

She is survived by a daughter, Karla K. Goff of Virginia Beach; a granddaughter, Diana K. Goff; son-in-law, Robert S. Goff, both of Chesapeake; a son, Kwentin K. Keenan and wife, Phyllis H., of Lorton, VA; grandson, K. Kyle Keenan and wife, Maribel S.; and a great-grandson, K. Kyle Keenan III, all of Fredericksburg, VA, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. This sweet, gentle lady will be dearly missed by her family who loved her so much as well as her many friends far and wide.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Monday, June 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at First Emmanuel Baptist Church on Kempsville Road in Chesapeake with Pastor Rommel Calilung officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. She will be laid to rest at a later date in Melbourne, FL.

At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
