Frank Cariou Obituary

Dr. Frank E. Cariou passed away with dignity at his home in Hospice Care on May 31, 2011, after a brief illness.

After retiring from GE Corporation Aerospace Division, he and his wife moved to Florida in 1996. He had designed portions of the satellite rockets currently in use in outer space, and he was especially dedicated to NASA's Space Shuttle Program.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Melbourne Beach. He had developed a myriad of interests, he liked to follow the stock market, and he read business publications and scientific journals avidly.

He was interested in the work of the Humane Society in rescuing dogs, so the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be sent to the Humane Society of South Brevard, Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy and his sister, Mavis.

Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Tuesday, June 7th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in upstate New York.

An admired and respected neighbor Frank always greated me with a smile and a handshake. I looked forward to our frequent discussions spanning a wide range of topics. Dogwood Avenue and Melbourne Beach has lost one its finest citizens and I a true friend.
