Sarah Gamble Obituary
Sarah Elizabeth Gamble, born August 6, 1941, passed away from complications of cancer surgery on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at her farm home in Dandridge, TN. Sarah was a native of Knoxville, TN but spent her formative years in Merritt Island, FL. She attended Cocoa High School and lived in Brevard on and off until 1984, when she moved back to her home state of Tennessee and continued her mortgage banking career. She was active in the community becoming Den Mother, President of the PTA, and served on the vestry of St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
After her children reached adulthood, she built a long business career in mortgage banking, in Rockledge, Melbourne, and most recently as the owner of Mortgage Loan Corporation (f/k/a Mountain Mortgage) of Sevierville, TN. In her spare time, she loved gardening, cooking and most of all enjoying time with friends and family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Lee T. Gamble; sons, David John Rufo, James Andrew Rufo (Louanne), and Richard Leon Rufo; brother, Carl Crockett (Carolyn); namesake granddaughters, Laura Elizabeth Rufo and Rachel Elizabeth Rufo; aunt, Alice Montgomery; sister-in-law, Vicki Moses (John); brother-in-law, Jim Gamble; half brothers, Clarence Crockett (Felicia), Kenneth Crockett (Sylvia), Rick White; devoted close friend, Jackie Lane; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering of family and friends at 4:00 PM Saturday, July 28th at Sunset Harbor, 3873 South Banana River Blvd, Cocoa Beach, FL.
In lieu of flowers, Sarah would have wanted a donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund www.ocrf.org. Condolences will also be accepted on her Facebook tribute page at http://www.facebook.com

When I was 6 months old, she was my neighbor and a family friend. In my adolecence, she was my den mother. In my teen years, she tolerated me, loved me and let me drive her car on Halloween scavenger hunts and to Orlando. In my 20's, she let me vent to her about life and gave me advice. She remained my friend and a member of my family throughout the years. She was always so beautiful and her laugh and smile infectious. I last saw her on Mother's Day weekend 2012 where I continued to be amazed by her strength,beauty and humor. I will always love Sarah. She will never be gone from my heart. I have great love and admiration for this beautiful woman. She was beautiful on the inside and out.

Sarah married my beloved brother Dave and had three great sons. We have been friends a long time, but the past few years we became much closer and those memories together are going to be cherished forever! Lee gave you much happiness and I know he is going to miss you too. So happy Lee, Andy, David, Ricky, Louanne and close friends and family were there to comfort Sarah. Sweet Loving Sarah is in a better place and will live forever with no pain and looking down on us with a big smile. Sarah and I had some grand times and fun at CHS years and years ago. (football games, dances after, prom, etc. and just being teenagers together!) I'm so sad to hear of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I've known Sarah for 30 years..met her when she first came to Tenn. We became great friends & she was the best loan originator there was..she got loans approved that were so tough for others. The last couple of years we'd email when she was in fla and we got to have lunch several times, the last time being right before the last surgery. I'll miss her smile, her laugh, the good times we had, the sharing of stories of our families. It was a pleasure to meet the boys of whom I'd heard stories for 30 years. She will be missed greatly. I met Sarah 41 years ago when I was 10 years old. She was my best friend David's mother. She was a great mother and a wonderful person. I enjoyed knowing her during my youth.
