Edward Dowling Obituary
Viera, FL
Edward P. Dowling, 89, of Viera died Saturday, July 30, 2014 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. A member of a pioneering family in Paterson, NJ, he attended St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cathedral High School and later was a business owner in the city. He was a WWII Army veteran. In the late 1970s, Ed moved to Merritt Island, FL, where for many years he managed Hofheimer Shoes in the Merritt Square Mall. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn Bernice Staff Dowling; children Lyn, Edward (Judy), Cathleen, Robert (LouAnn) and Peter (Marge). He was the grandfather of 10 and the great-grandfather of four children.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, August 8th at the Church of Our Saviour, Cocoa Beach. Arrangements by Island Cremations, Merritt Island.

I give my deepest sympathy to the family and his wonderful wife. I am sorry I was not there to say my good bye but I am hopeful I will see Ed again in heaven. Another star is there to watch over all of us.
