Alice Ritter Obituary

Romulus - Alice Mae Ritter, 95, of Romulus, died Friday (March 8, 2013) at Geneva General Hospital with her family by her side.
Friends may call 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday (March 12) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (March 12) at the funeral home. Rev. Joy Novack, lay pastor of Romulus Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Varick Volunteer Fire Dept., 4682 Rt. 96A, Geneva, 14456 or South Seneca Ambulance, 2139 Rt. 96A, Ovid, 14521.
Alice was born September 20, 1917 in Branchport, the daughter of Walter and Iva Borden Blakesley. She was a 1936 graduate of Waterloo High School. She was employed as a housekeeper and waitress prior to her marriage to her husband. Together she and her husband, owned and operated C and A Farms, Inc. in Romulus for over 60 years. Alice and Charlie traveled the USA and Canada, spending winters in Punta Gorda, Marathon, and Bradenton Beach, Fla. She loved to garden, collect sea shells, walk the beaches, crocheting, and playing cards. She was a longtime member of Presbyterian Church of Geneva. Alice was a member of the Seneca County Women Farm Bureau. She was also a homemaker who loved her family most of all.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy ""Dotty"" (Frank) Case of Romulus; grandchildren, Jeff Case, Patty Case, and Julie Dougherty; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Hayley Case and Mason and Kylie Dougherty; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Charles B. Ritter on July 30, 2000; sister, Viola Roloson; step sister, Doris Crouch; step brothers, Jim and Bobby Lerkins; sisters-in-law, Hazel Covert and Velma Sanders; and brother-in-law, Dr. Ben Ritter.
A special "Thank You" to her dear caregivers, Mary, Corky, Linda, Kathy, Shelly, Karen, and Mary Ann. The family could not have gotten through this journey without your love and support.
