Gary Iddings Obituary
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday (March 15) at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Iddings was born on August 5, 1934 in Phelps, N.Y. the son of the late Ernest and Jessie Bement Iddings. He retired after 32 years of service from Garlocks. He was a life memberof Northern Central. Mr. Iddings was an Army Veteran and a member of the Williamson Post #394. He loved working with wood, doing Jigsaw puzzles with his wife and classic cars. He loved to laugh and was known for his practical jokes. Most importantly is, he was an excellent husband and father, a great provider and was admired by his whole family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Alice E. Iddings; son, Jeff (Lorilea) Iddings of Newark; daughter-in-law Michelle Iddings; grand children, Tiffany (Robbie) Barton of Buffalo, Christopher Young and Ashley Iddings of Indiana, Beatrice and Darcianne Orbaker of Newark; great- grandson, Sebastian A Barton of Buffalo; two sisters, Bonnie (Dave) Opdyke and Virgina Babcock both of Lakeland, Florida; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son Mitch, brothers Clark, Don, Mike, Charlie and Kenny and sister Elaine Ellis.

Sending our condolences to Alice and the rest of Gary's family.
Thank you Gary for being a good neighbor.Thank you for cutting wood with with me,remodeling the kitchen,and just for being there to sit in the yard and have a beer. Goodbye friend,Alberta and I will miss you.

I wish to offer my condolences to Gary's family. Gary and I were in the same company and building while taking basic training at Fort Dix,NJ. I lost track of Gary in the 1960's. He was a good friend and we had some nice times while in basic training. I lost my wife 05/24/2010 to Alzheimer's so I can understand what you are all going through. May God guide you and help you with your grief.
