Dear Linda,

I always enjoyed being around John.
It was a lot of fun playing tennis
with him, talking physics, or having
lunch with both of you. I am very happy
I met him. He was such a fine gentleman.
I miss him dearly.

My deepest condolences.

Dear Linda & Carmen,
So very sorry to hear of the passing of John. He was the first member of the department I met with when starting the B.S. program and his warm, gracious smile was immediately present. I will always remember that and the pre-semester gatherings at your home.

Dear Linda,

Please accept my deepest sympathies on your loss. Like Renee, I retain vivid memories of John Murrell's periodic visits to Baton Rouge in my youth (and a fondness for frozen daiquiris). He will indeed be missed.

Linda,

I have wonderful memories playing cards with John and the group for 20 years. I will miss his insights into history of which he was also quite knowledgeable

Linda, you are in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. I remember John coming over and playing chess with my dad when I was a little girl. Our grandmother was so proud of the book that he wrote and the autographed copy that he gave her, even though she said she couldn't understand a word of it! He became a much happier person after he married you! Although we didn't see the two of you often, you are family and he will be missed.

I have many fond memories of our childhood visits in Homer, La. with our grandmother, Minnie Malone. Even though I had not seen John in years, I was so happy that we re-established contact through the John Murrell Family Tree. Please accept my sincere sympathy. Linda Malone Glover

Linda, my sincerest condolences. John was a good man. He not only taught students, I can personally attest he gave valuable lessons to his more junior faculty. He will be missed.

Linda ... I am so sorry to hear about your husband. He sure did fight the fight.

You can be proud of his many accomplishments and all that he meant to you and his extended family at IPFW, and beyond.

He sure was a brave man and his fight to survive for so long is an inspiration to all of us.

Your kindness and comfort to him in his battle will be a reminder to all around you.

John ... Rest in Peace!
