EVANGELINE AXSON Obituary

EVANGELINE "ANGIE" AXSON, 78, was taken home to heaven, Friday, March 18, 2011. Born in Fort Wayne on Nov. 29, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Herman Bryant and Mary Copeland. She lived a fulfilling life working at Wherlys Tavern, Main Street Bingo and countless volunteer years at St. Patrick Food Bank. She enjoyed working Vacation Bible School at Third Street Church of God. She will be greatly missed here on earth as heaven receives her beautiful voice to the music she blessed so many with. "Our loss is heavens gain." "She truly fought a good fight and held onto her faith in Gods' will." She is survived by daughter, Sherri Bidwell of Fort Wayne; son, Rick Boyd; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Louise Gable and Jenny Kessler. She is preceded in death by her companion of 31 years, Paul Aguilar; sons, Keith Axson and Tom Boyd; daughter, Pamela Axson-Girardot; granddaughter, Tammy Boyd; great-granddaughter, Aleshia Myers; sister, Ruth Mills; brother, Robert Cramer. Service is 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Parkview Hospice. www.covingtonmemorial.com
