REV. DALE B. WORCESTER, 93, of Monroeville, Ind., passed away Friday, May 18, 2018, at Adams Heritage, Monro eville. Born on Sunday, Feb. 8, 1925 in Taber, Iowa, he was the son of the late Dwight Worcester and the late Ella (Byler) Worcester. He married Dorothy J. Barton on Sept. 2, 1947 in Santa Monica, Calif., and she preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 1989. He graduated from the University of Kansas City with a bachelor's degree and also was a graduate of the Nazarene Theological Seminary. Dale was a former member of the Monroeville Lion's Club and the Community Advisory Council for Village of Heritage in Monroeville (now Adams Heritage). Dale was a pastor for 42 years serving congregations in Indiana, Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, California and Washington State, retiring in 1990 from the Monroeville Church of the Nazarene. In his spare time, Dale enjoyed singing hymns, reading, and word puzzles. Survivors include his son, Col. (Ret) Chaplain David D. (Linda) Worcester of Victoria, Texas; daughter, Joyce L. (James) Magner of Fort Wayne; sister, Betty J. Frohock of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Dale was also preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela S. Worcester; a brother, Edward D. Worcester; and sister, Rose Speaks. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, 111 South Water Street, Monroeville, Ind., with visitation one hour prior to service. Ralph Klinker officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery in Monroeville, Ind. Friends will also be received from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Adams Heritage and also from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacob's Chapel, Monroeville. Preferred memorials can be made to Adams Heritage Nursing Home.
