Gladys Andrew Obituary
She was born on Jan. 15, 1922, in Taunton, Mass., one of three girls born to Harold and Signe Fifield.
"Gally" was raised in Winchester, Mass., where she graduated from Winchester High School, Class of 1940. In 1944, she earned a Bachelor's degree in nursing from New England Baptist School of Nursing.
On Jan. 26, 1946, she married Jack Edward Andrew, and raised three children in Topsfield, Mass. Upon their retirement, they moved to Merrymeeting Lake in New Durham, NH, where they lived for 40 years.
With a twinkle in her eyes, a merry smile, and a glib tongue, Gally enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends.
She enjoyed a lifelong interest in athletics, especially tennis and swimming. In 1933, at age 11, she was a swimming champ, winning a trophy for a 25-yard race.
Gally also loved dancing and playing cards.
Gally was predeceased by her husband of 60 years in 2007. She also was predeceased by one sister, Barbara Haynes, of Canterbury, N.H.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Estey, of Manchester, N.H., and Mrs. Susan Molin, of Hampton Falls, N.H.; one son, Mr. Jack Andrew, Jr.; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind one sister, Murial Ganz, of Aspen, Colo.
Gally was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
