Eugene Morrill Obituary
Born in Portsmouth on Jan. 21, 1925, he was the son of Harris and Doris (Maxam) Morrill and was a lifelong resident here. He was a graduate of Portsmouth High School.
He was a longtime employee of the U.S. Postal Service, a member of Corpus Christi Parish, the Masons and Knights of Columbus.
Gene was an active citizen in the town of New Castle, holding many positions in town government and was most proud of being the town historian. He was a past president of the American Cancer Society.
Husband of the late Mary (Daly) Morrill, he is survived by his children, Richard T. Morrill of Union, Gail M. Duncan of Zephyrhills, Fla., Andrea Marks of Nantucket, Mass., Joseph Morrill of Knoxville, Tenn., Sue Erickson of Sanford, Maine; grandchildren, Brent and Corey, Amy and Eric, Jessica and Tristy, Allan and Sara, Joshua and Gregory; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard I. Morrill of Honolulu, Hawaii, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 27, at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 98 Summer St., Portsmouth. Friends invited. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in New Castle.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Drive, Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03110. Arrangements are by the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth.

I worked with your Dad and Mary at the PO. We especially enjoyed the Holidays when he replied to all the "Letters to Santa".

tristie, matt called me on monday and gave me the news, i am so sorry to hear this. i have very fond memories from the visits to the house whenever he called me, i am glad we got to meet and if i can do anything, please don't hesitate to call.

Mr. Morrill was a true Gentleman in every sense of the word. I will miss his smile and pleasant manner.
