Christopher Mainville Obituary

NEW DURHAM — Christopher M. Mainville, Sr., 57, of New Durham, passed away during the early morning hours of June 2, 2012 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital in Lebanon, N.H. after a brief illness.

Born the first son to Cecilia (Soldani) Mainville and the late Joseph M. Mainville on Jan. 30, 1955 in Marlboro, Mass. He moved to Newburyport, Mass., in 1960 with his family where he was raised. He was a 1974 graduate of Newburyport High School where he played football and lived the "lineman's dream" during a Friday night home game against Marblehead.

Chris had many interests among which were target shooting, boating, hunting, fishing, gardening, antiquing, and flea markets. He especially enjoyed the outdoors and being with his family. His sense of humor, his ability to make even the youngest child smile and laugh, and his generous spirit were among his finest gifts.

Along with his mother, Chris is survived by his loving soulmate, Minerva Dominguez of New Durham; a son, Christopher, Jr. and his fiance, Jamie, and three beautiful granddaughters, Willow, Faith and Everly of Amesbury, Mass. He also leaves behind two sisters and two brothers, Sheila and her husband Joseph (Skip) Marquette of Barrington, Mary P. Mainville and Misha Galt-Martin of Seattle, Wash., Jerry Mainville of Newburyport, Mass. and Greg Mainville and his wife Mary of Amesbury, Mass; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, N.H.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 5 Hale St., Dover, N.H. with the Rev. Susan Garrity, officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Amesbury, Mass.
