Eleanor Louise Plumer

LEE - Eleanor Louise Plumer, 100, of Mast Road passed away on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at her residence with her family at her side.

Eleanor was born on Nov. 4, 1912, in Derry; the daughter of Hayford and Georgianna (Dumont) Kimball.

We just recently celebrated her 100th birthday where she was presented in 2012 with the Boston Post Cane by the town of Lee for being the oldest living Lee resident. Over the years, she belonged to writers groups and line dancing groups; enjoying traveling, painting and gardening. Eleanor worked as a secretary at UNH for over 20+ years, where she retired early over 40 years ago.

Eleanor is survived by her grandson, Joseph W. Plumer, Jr. and Jolene Clark; who have been caring for her; she has seven living grandchildren, five of which do not live in the area, and numerous great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Eleanor was predeceased by her twin sons, Joseph and James Plumer, and her long friend, Ruth Greenwood.

Flowers are welcome; memorial donations may be made in Eleanor's name to Strafford Nutrition Meals on Wheels, 9 Bartlett Ave, Somersworth, N.H. 03878.

Friends and family may call from 1 -2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, with a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road, Route 4 Lee, N.H.
