Leona Trout Obituary

Leona Irene Trout, 85, near Libertytown, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born February 18, 1929 in Lisbon, she was the daughter of the late James Vincent McCuller Sr. and Emily Leona Knill McCuller. She was the wife of Harry Lee Trout Jr., who predeceased her in 2011.

Mrs. Trout was a 1946 graduate of Frederick High School. She and her husband were lifelong dairy farmers in Frederick County on their family farm, Changeable Farm. She was a member of Chapel Lutheran Church on Daysville Road, Libertytown. She was a hardworking lady and enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, arts and crafts, building doll houses and jigsaw puzzles.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis L. and Karen Trout of Hanover, PA, Daryl V. and Susie Trout of Cottage Grove, TN, Robin M. and Peggy Trout of Johnsville, MD, Terry L. and Cindy Trout of Sedalia, KY, Tracey E. and Denise Trout of Cunningham, KY; Trout grandchildren, Ken and Carly, Jon and Jennifer, Brandon and Pamela, Joshua, Caleb, Caitlyn, Abby, Tyler and Carly, Eilene, Courtney, Casey, Carleigh, Elly, Anna, Alyssa, Josiah, Jesse, and Johannah; great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Annie, Tobias, Ezra, and a great-grandson due in August. She is also survived by a sister, Kathleen V. McCuller Trout and husband, Richard H. Trout of Detour; brothers, James V. McCuller Jr. and wife, Nancy of Union Bridge, Robert L. McCuller of Taneytown, Gerald W. McCuller Sr. of Williamsburg, PA, Don M. McCuller Sr. and wife, Dolly of Bonneauville, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Ray Erwin Trout in 2007.

The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown on Monday, July 7 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Gerald Wayne McCuller Jr., Mrs. Trout's nephew, will officiate. Interment will be in Chapel Cemetery, 11109 Daysville Rd., Libertytown.

Ms.leona will be missed by many, Our thoughts and prayers to the trout family. My wife and I will alway's remember Ms leona asking us when we visited at their home if we cared for any ice cream or pie! Buzzie & Tammy Anthony Jr.
