Robert Hobba

1917 - 2014

Mr. Robert L. Hobba, 96, of Frederick, Maryland, died Monday June 16, 2014 at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehab Center. He was the husband of Anne Martin Hobba, his wife of 64 years.

Born July 13, 1917 in Butte, Montana, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Edith Williams Hobba.

Mr. Hobba had a long and interesting career with the U. S. Forest Service, traveling to every state throughout the United States. Bob loved nature and was an environmentalist. He shared his interest in geography and nature with his family, and they twice journeyed on cross-country camping trips.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children Chastain H. Knapp and husband Rich of Ontario, Canada, Robert L. Hobba, Jr. of Frederick and Fannie H. Shenk of Chestertown, MD, and four grandchildren Teagan Knapp, Taylor Knapp, Chastain Shenk and Madison Shenk. He was preceded in death by a sister Betty Lou Thompson.

Bob was a much adored husband, father and grandfather, and his family remembers him lovingly.

Services and interment will be private.
