David Delph

1953 - 2015

David Wayne Delph, born May 7th 1953 of Mt. Airy, husband of Rozzetta Sullivan Delph, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday January 21, 2015. He was the son of the late Palmer Delph and Ella Delph of Mt. Airy, Maryland.

David was the father of four children Dewayne Delph, and wife Sandra, daughters Kate Foels and Stephanie Delph. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Douglas Delph.

David had six brothers, Vernon, Johnny, Sammy, Jimmy, Frank and Emory and two sisters, Betty and Dorothy.

He was the Grandfather of five grandsons Jessie, Timothy, Corbon, John and Logan. He also has three granddaughters Tiffany, Courtney and Samantha. He had many nieces and nephews and will be missed by all.

David has spent many years working with children. He and Rozzetta were foster parents to 14 plus children and enjoyed working in the church Sunday school he was a school bus driver for the last four years. He cherished the children on his route and prayed for them daily. He was always there with a listening ear and kind word to say to them while they were in his care.

As you look around while driving up and down the highways throughout Maryland, Virginia and DC many of the beautiful trees and flowers were planted by him throughout his many years of landscaping.

David was an avid golfer. Always waiting for the phone call and ready to go when there was someone to play a round of golf with. The golf clubs never left the truck. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy on Sunday January 25th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Airy Baptist church on Monday, January 26th at 11am.

Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
