Frederick O'Hara Pruitt departed this life suddenly on January 30, 2016, in Germantown, MD. He was born January 19, 1959, in Greenwood, MS, to Berley and Delores Pruitt. He leaves to mourn his wife, Crystal Honemond Pruitt; daughters, Ebone', Amber, and Lauren; siblings, Antoinette Levy (Larry), Antonio Pruitt, and his "adopted" brother Jeffery Morgan (Jacki); aunts, Dorothy Wilson, Ernie McNeil (Charles), Patricia Lipsey (Lee), and Valerie King; uncle, Robert Robinson; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A public viewing will be held on Fri., Feb. 5, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at West Montgomery UMC, 21000 Beallsville Rd., Dickerson, MD. Funeral services will be held on Sat., Feb. 6, 2016, at Jackson Chapel UMC, 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick, MD, with the family hour at 10 a.m. and the funeral at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be shared at www.garylrollinsfuneralhome.com.

I was so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. Another good soul gone too soon. I will always remember Fred fondly from high school. We used to talk about all of the pros and cons of having one's parent work at the same school where we were students! I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to his family. I am so sorry to hear about Fred's death at such a young age. I worked with Fred as a Corporal on a patrol shift at the Germantown District of the MCP. He was an asset to the goals and objectives of our shift and that of the command staff of our district and the department. He was educated, brave, honest, quick thinking, a team player and no one drove harder or faster than Fred to back up a brother or sister officer when he or she was in a tight spot and needed back up.

I simply can not grasp his leaving us at such a young age. I want to let his wife and family know that I held Fred in very high regard. He bailed me out of a couple bad situations and he was a true friend, a consummate professional and law enforcement brother who I will always consider a member of my family. I wish I were there to tell you this personally however, I am currently out of the area until the end of March and I will be unable to attend his funeral service. My sympathy and condolences to all of you.
