Ralph Lewis Abelow, 68, of Frederick, passed away at his home surrounded by his family and friends on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from MS. Ralph was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew him. Ralph was the loving husband of Christine, his wife of 15 years and understood he was twice blessed with the loving support of Christine and his mother Paula. Ralph was born January 20, 1949 in Manhattan to Paula Brunner Abelow and the late Ira Abelow. He was one of the first graduates from Thomas Johnson High School in 1967, then attended Western State Colorado University in Gunnison, Colorado where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. Prior to his illness, he was a member of the Carroll Creek Rotary Club, Business Network International, Mid Atlantic Floor Covering Association, Frederick County Homebuilders Association, and several County Homeowner Associations. In his spare time Ralph was a competitive triathlete who loved to be outdoors hiking, fishing, gardening, and skiing. He loved to dance, cook and listen to classical music. RALPH THOMAS

November 5, 2019

I just learned of Ralph's passing. Ralph was a classmate of mine at Frederick High School through the 11th grade when he transferred to the new Thomas Johnson High School. We were friends and we used to joke around a lot that we had the same first name.I enjoyed his humor and his enthusiasm. My prayers go out to his family.

Jesus performed powerful works that showed on a small scale how such prophecies will become a global reality. His death was fundamental to the future elimination of every cause for sorrow. So important was Jesus' death to the fulfillment of God's purposes that Jesus commanded his disciples to commemorate it.Luke 22:19, 20.

I am so sorry for your great loss. May the God who "binds up the brokenhearted" and "comforts all who mourn" sustain your family during this challenging time. (Isaiah 61:1, 2) With heartfelt sympathy.

Guess we'll have to finish the book we started together on the other side someday, Ralph. Sorry you're gone, but it's only for the time being. I'm glad I got to know you and Christine, who was a tower of strength. See ya. Hope my prayers helped.

Our deepest condolences to the family of one of the kindest man we have ever known. For years we also had the same flooring business as Ralph, but we worked together as a family of businesses, never as competitors. When we closed shop, he was still there as a friend, to help my husband. When Rod passed, Ralph came to my store to see how my children and I were doing. I have never forgotten Ralphs' genuine friendship and kindness.I hope you and Rod are laughing and sharing fabulous stories now.
